If it's your first time travelling during COVID-19  you'll notice a few more restrictions and rules in place. Follow these tips and make your trip to Cape LaHave Island go off without a hitch:

• Before committing to anything, check if any travel restrictions apply — in both your origin and destination. Get up-to-date information by checking government travel advisories.
• You're required to wear a face mask at the airport, including at security checkpoints. Be prepared to lower your mask for ID purposes when asked by a TSA officer.
• Rather than handing a TSA agent your boarding pass, place it straight on the scanner yourself. After that, hold it up for inspection.
• TSA is now allowing passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on luggage. This will have to be removed from your bag to be screened.
• Empty everything from your pockets, such as your small change and phone, and place them in your carry-on instead of into bins. This will reduce handling during the screening process.
• Separate any food you have for X-ray scanning. Food items often set off the alarm. Placing them in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA officer to handle and inspect your belongings.

As countries begin to lift travel restrictions, airlines are back in action with new measures including social distancing and staggered boarding and disembarkation. Here's what different carriers are doing to help stop the spread of COVID-19:

• Air Canada - this airline is known for conducting passenger temperature checks and cleaning with disinfectant.
• PAL Airlines - this airline is known for cleaning with disinfectant and providing passenger masks.
